Frequently asked
What can I expect during a mini session?
Infant and Child Photography can vary for Mini Sessions, these photos would shot in a natural light setting, with or without props depending on the theme of the mini session. It’s advised that parents arrive early for their schedule time frame, and have snacks or bribe items ready for the children in case they need something to look forward to, or lose focus. Children will be positioned in multiple poses, and postured in certain ways. There will be posed and candid shots, and parent can jump into the session at anytime as well. There will be standing, & sitting on the ground (blanket will be provided), and even an occasional jump here and there. A style guide will be provided via email as soon as a session is booked with the photographer.
What can I expect for a regular photography session?
As a natural light photographer, a regular photography session will be shot at the clients preferred location. If the client would like to choose their home place as the preferred location for their family photoshoot, this can be done. Photographer will arrive 10-15 minutes in advance of scheduled time frame. Client can choose to shoot in various locations of their home (e.g. front porch, backyard, kitchen, front of fire place, bedroom, child’s nursery). If parent has prop ideas, they can suggest and collaborate with photographer to get the images they are envisioning.
Photographer is currently observing and practicing COVID social distancing guidelines, by wearing a mask and disinfecting equipment and frequent washing of hands.
What is the recurring Sessions package?
Client can participate in all scheduled mini sessions for a three month period, and will receive access to 5 professionally edited digitals for every session, with the option to purchase more digitals and/or prints from their gallery at any time. Galleries will be available for additional purchases for up to a month after the last shoot and upload date.
Mini Sessions are held once or twice a month, and the mini sessions are announced well in advance. This option is good for varied and consistent photographic content for your collection.
What is their is bad or inclement weather?
If the photographer does not cancel the appointment because of projected inclement weather, the session will still be in effect. Generally, over-cast, chance of rain, and light mist are acceptable forms of weather for a photography session. If in any case, the weather becomes severe; the session can be rescheduled or shot after the storm passes.
If photographer cancels in advance of bad weather, the client will recieve full refund of their fee. Client can also reschedule with photographer for a later date and time.
What if I need to cancel the day of?
All sessions collect a non-refundable retainer when booked. If the session is canceled by the client for any reason, the retainer will be forfeited. There are a limited number of sessions open every month, and a last minute cancellation is a loss of business opportunity for the photographer.
The fee retained can also be credited as a print credit for a future session, if the client reschedules the appointment for an agreeable date and time.
What is included in the editing?
We capture many images during your session, and the edited images that you will receive will be selected by Josie Marie Photography. All photos that are delivered in the gallery are carefully culled, edited for proper white balance, color correction, and skin tones, and finally stylized by the photographer. Josie Marie Photography will use her judgment regarding style and artistic input for the production of all selected images. If you would like to review all images from your session, this can be done by purchasing the “Unedited Images” and additional edits can be requested.
